Back To School Night is often about schedules, classrooms, and the start of a new academic year. This year at Daniel Hand High School, it also became a meaningful opportunity to celebrate a program rooted in education, belonging, and community support. Madison ABC was proud to be featured at Daniel Hand High School’s Back To School Night, giving families, educators, and community members a closer look at the program, its scholars, and the lasting role it continues to play in

The 2026-2027 school year is officially underway at The Roby House, and August and September gave us the kind of start every house hopes for: new faces, returning rhythms, full calendars, generous help from every direction, and a living room that now has a very well-timed new couch. This year, Jake is holding down the role of lone senior in the house. He is joined by juniors Erick and Jayden, sophomore Darwin, better known around here as DR, and our newest program member, fre

The Second Annual Madison ABC Gala, held on March 19th at the beautiful Madison Beach Hotel, was truly a chance to shine—and a night our community will not soon forget. With a packed house of supporters, the energy in the room was undeniable from the moment guests arrived. We are deeply grateful to the Madison Beach Hotel and its General Manager, John Mathers, for their continued generosity and support of community events like ours. Under John's leadership, the hotel once aga

November provided a bit of a breather compared to October. On November 4th there was no school so Betsy M was kind enough to take Jake, Erick and Jayden on visits to Holy Cross and Amherst. The feedback was that they liked both for different reasons and all planned to apply to both when the time comes along. This month was Erick’s time to plan and prepare a meal: His meal of choice was an Ecuadorian dish called Chicharron, which was fried pork belly with guacamole. Erick mo

Our 3rd annual Hoops Basketball Tournament Fundraiser was a resounding success, met with bright sunshine, fierce but friendly competition among 9 dedicated teams, 20 energetic kids in the Knock Out contest, and countless spectators cheering everyone on. The day was kicked off by Jean Card, Host Parent of the late Asa Masai Palmer. Asa, who unexpectedly passed away in June, was a two-time Emmy Award winner who left an incredible mark on everyone he met. Smiling through tears,
