Current Scholars
Madison ABC supports these talented and highly-motivated scholars to achieve their great potential at Daniel Hand High School, within the Madison community and beyond. Through the partnership with Madison ABC, the scholars are able to change this potential into achievement with the tools, resources and support provided by the program. The Madison community also gains a tremendous and meaningful benefit by having these young men join and become an integral part of the town’s vibrant community.
A Better Chance Madison is extremely fortunate to have the Madison community’s ongoing generous support of our goal to positively impact these young men’s lives and ensure that these accomplished scholars achieve their hopes and dreams for a meaningful and impactful future.

Jake
Junior
As the most “senior” member of the house, Jake is a dedicated and well-rounded scholar who has already earned his Seal of Bi-literacy in Spanish. He is tackling a challenging course load with multiple AP classes and keeps his schedule full with a wide range of extracurriculars. In addition to being a member of the Fencing Team, he is actively involved in the Debate Club, Diversity Club, and Model UN. This summer, he put his passion for social good into practice by volunteering with the Citizens Climate Lobby (CCL). This past April he visited the Galapagos Islands.

Jayden
Sophomore
Jayden, a sophomore from Bridgeport, is already off to a running start, as a dedicated member of both the indoor and outdoor track teams. After spending his summer in the greater Boston area, he’s back at DHHS and has discovered a new appreciation for the classics, finding his Latin class to be more engaging than he ever expected. With a favorite subject of science, he is looking forward to the DHHS “Club Fair” to expand his extracurricular activities.

Erick
Sophomore
Erick, a sophomore from NYC, is truly embracing every opportunity to build on his experiences and expand his mind. This past summer, he spent a month and a half in Ecuador with his dad, connecting with his roots and immersing himself in his heritage. He also found time to spend two weeks with his Madison host family, further strengthening those relationships. He has hit the ground running at DHHS, joining the Spanish Club, Fencing Team, and Volleyball Team. While he’s a fan of all things math-related, he is keen to continue his involvement in language and cultural clubs, and to join those that benefit the community. When he’s not busy in the classroom or with his teams, you can often find him volunteering for team fundraisers, demonstrating his commitment to giving back.

Darwin
Freshman
A new addition to the Madison ABC family, Darwin (“DR”) a freshman from Bridgeport, is already making a mark on the field, joining the DHHS Tiger Football Team. With a passion for social studies and science, he is interested in pursuing a career in engineering. He hopes to get involved in school clubs, with a particular interest in the robotics club. When he’s not studying or on the field, he enjoys relaxing with activities like fishing and reading. He has a little brother at home.
