House Happenings- March Edition

February 2026, unlike February of 2025, was actually a bit of a respite.

With Jayden’s track season over, and DR not participating in a winter sport, only Erick and Jake had significant competitions for fencing, and even those were few and far between.

The fellas continued to take part in their after-school clubs, work out when the mood struck, and genuinely had a ‘slow’ month.

Thanks to Chris M and her host son, Daven for coming to the Roby House on Wednesday the 11^th to share a Valentine’s Activity with the scholars.  The attached is a picture of ‘pre-activity’ catchup.

The house was closed from the evening of Feb 13th through the evening of February 17^th due to ‘Winter Break.’  The fellas woke up on 2/13 with Valentine’s gift bags from Cupid, since she wouldn’t see them on the 14^th.

That said, on the 14^th, Darrin, Holly & Kaleb had the pleasure of having lunch with Darrin’s ABC Host Family, whom he has reconnected with after a 40-year absence.  They will be attending the Gala on March 19^th.

Speaking of Host Families, Host Family Weekend was the evening of the 20^th through the afternoon of the 23^rd, as it was allowable for the families to return the guys early due to the impending blizzard…which resulted in multiple days off from school.  When all was clear, I think they appreciated the return to ‘normalcy.’

Even though it was his chore, we’d like to give a special shout out to DR, who handled the shoveling of the front and back walkways, and cleaned up some areas the plow truck left behind.  Allegedly he enjoys shoveling snow…
