Erick was in NYC with his family, DR and Jake in Bridgeport, and Jayden in Boston with his mom.
Jake and Erick had fencing competitions on Jan 6th at Cheshire, Jan 9th at home, January 10th at North Haven, Jan 14th vs North Branford, January 17th at Morgan, Jan 20th vs Fairfield, Jan 23rd vs Cheshire Academy, January 24th at North Haven, Jan 27th vs Guilford and January 29th at Cheshire Academy. Erick rec’d some press for his efforts:

Jayden had indoor track, a much more abbreviated schedule compared to fencing, with a meet at Yale the weekend of Jan 9th and 10th and a meet at The Floyd Little Athletic Center on Jan 12th. The Yale meet was in a beautiful but CROWDED facility.

DR continued to do off season lifting with the football team. He also had a Freshmen Football Team banquet on January 28th.
Jake had a few debate team meets, and also a Model UN event at Yale from Jan 15th-18th. The final day was cut short due to the snow storm.
Jake has also started SAT Prep with Billy Calder, a new volunteer to the program.
The house attended the VIBE cabaret on Jan 10th. Mission accomplished as the event piqued DR’s interest enough that he plans to try out for next year.
On Jan 12th, Jake’s Host Family (Matt, Aviva and Noah) joined us for dinner and on Jan 15th, Steph Carbone also joined us.
On Jan 13th, Jean joined us for dinner and assisted the fellas with their course selections.
Thank you, Chris, for covering the house for Darrin and I on Jan 22rd. Even though we were unable to take our planned long weekend trip to Myrtle Beach due to the weather, we decided, instead to go visit our Son, Kaleb at Stonehill College.
We’d like to give an extra special thank you to our host families. Besides the warm welcome they give the guys each month, they also extended their stays by an additional night with them the weekend of Jan 23-25 due to the timing of the snow storm on Jan 25th.
We’d also like to thank Madison Neighbors for the February ‘cover’ and article of our ‘family.’ Hopefully this exposure will increase interest both voluntarily and financially from the greater Madison community.
