Asa Masai Palmer Scholarship Fund
The Asa Masai Palmer Scholarship was established in memory of Asa Masai Palmer, Madison A Better Chance and Daniel Hand Class of 2014. Asa was a distinguished Scholar-Athlete at Daniel Hand, playing on the State Champion Tiger Football team and contributing on the basketball and volleyball courts. His agility and creativity also shined as a member of the award-winning Vibe.
Asa went on to attend Wesleyan University (‘18), where he again played football while earning a degree in Film. After graduation, he worked at CBS Sports, where he won two Emmys for his work in sports editing, and also completed extensive freelance work in minor league basketball. While he was incredibly proud of his Emmys, his true passion project was developing Sentinel 6, an Afro-Futuristic anime series with a close friend from Wesleyan.
The Asa Masai Palmer Scholarship is earned by Madison A Better Chance Scholars through academic achievement and is awarded upon commitment to a four-year college or university. Asa’s commitment to academics and leadership lives on through his namesake scholarship, as does his generosity in sharing his time, talent, and treasures with others. He would be so proud to see Madison ABC Scholars reach for — and achieve — their goals.
